Julie A. Robinson

Julie A. Robinson received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas in 1978 and her law degree from there in 1981. She was in private practice, was a research attorney for a bankruptcy judge, and an assistant U. S. Attorney until 1994. She served as a bankruptcy judge from 1994 to 2001 when she was nominated by President George W. Bush for a position on the U. S. District Court for Kansas. She has served in that position since then. Judge Robinson is the first African American to serve as a federal district judge in Kansas.
